There are dozens of advertised tours to Muir Woods, but most are just transportation and a narrative on the way to the park. Tom's Muir Woods Walking Tour is so much more! Tom picks you up at your hotel, and takes ONLY 6 people at a time. He walks with you, explains the history of the woods, the area, and what it is you are looking at. On his tour, we traveled off the main paths and walked through barely noticeable paths to find some hidden treasures of the park. He supplies a picnic lunch (complete with tablecloth and centerpiece!!) and any other items you need (including umbrellas for the rain!) He takes you to great picture taking spots as well. Upon the completion of your several mile walk, he drops you off in Sausolito with clear directions to return to San Francisco by ferry. A great value and a great way to see Muir Woods, Sausolito and the area. Tom has a great personality, is extremely knowledgeable, and makes the day so much more than just walking through an incredibly beautiful forest.

My mom and I recently went on Tom's walking tour in Muir Woods. He picked us up at our hotel and we were at the park and on the trail early so we didn't have to deal with the crazy traffic or parking chaos. We really liked that he restricts the numbers so there were only 7 of us on the tour. He also provided an excellent lunch. Tom is very entertaining and informative and we enjoyed it immensely.
